To quote several wiser posters, 'that sets up the rest of the season nicely.'

Lots of plot. No Betty Draper.

    The perfect episode.

So what car are they working on? (Looked it up - it's the Vega). Dug the episode. They seem to be bumping up the color every episode. And how funny was Pete's reaction to his father in law considering his MLK reaction last week.
They're getting the band back together.
Hard to believe they would announce the going-public thing without getting Don or Roger to sign off - maybe the merge was there FU to the other partners for freezing them out.
    Harry Hamlin in the house!

That entire scene was terrific. It was great to have Pete back to full loathsomeness and Roger back to full Rogerness. I love that man.

I wonder what's being set up for Joan. I thought she was great last night.

The episode also seemed more interesting to me visually.

Jon Hamm needs work on his blow job face.

According to Sepinwall, the car is the Vega.

Yes, I would like a Joan blushing with her hair down gif, if anyone sees it. I probably could watch that for hours.

Is Trudy the only one getting better looking as the show progresses?

There ought to be a scorecard, who gets more, Roger or Don?

I'm really surprised at a lot of the pat analysis of Don that goes on here. He's not a bad dad. He's not a bad guy. He's not a good dad. He's not a good guy. He's a complicated human being. He's a good dad sometimes. He's a bad dad sometimes. He's a good husband sometimes. He's a bad husband sometimes.

    Gets more: Don, by far.

Gets more variety: Roger, by far.

I do agree that they are playing up Alison Brie's hotness much more lately, but I think they've done that with several women because of the times. The late 1960s allowed for more casual dressage even far away from Woodstock. Peggy dresses better and looks better. No one dressed as sexily as Megan in the early seasons. Joan has buttoned up more but mostly because she's gone from secretary to partner.
