No doubt, that card was written and filled prior to the previous evening's event.

$100 bucks was probably a nice little Xmas bonus for secretaries back in the day.

Still, she's probably not thinking about when he wrote the card, and when he put the money in there. He did a quickie with her, and the next morning he A) doesn't mention it and B) gives her $100. That's what she's thinking.

I figured she was typing her resignation -- but then the preview seems to indicate she's going to be around.

I think this show has to be very careful as it walks the line between serious television drama and soap.

Don and his secretary is very, very close to that line, if not potentially over it.

Oddly enough, up to last night, one of Don's unbreakables seemed to be not boffing employees. He sure had chances with Peggy and Joan and any secretary he ever had. Maybe this is one more example of more dangerous behavior on his part.

By the way, that Glen kid turned into a creepy little shit, as if he wasn't already. How did they miss him when they we casting for Damien on the remake of The Omen?

Every time I see Sally on screen I think of Ralphie in A Christmas Story - seeing her at the tree lot only made it weirder.

I'm not sure he's become any more of a risktaker. I don't think he's living any edgier. I just think he's getting to an age where he cannot handle the amount of alcohol he drinks.

He drank just as copiously in the past, but he now forgets his keys, can't put them in the keyhole and needs assistance finding a bed. Allowing his guard down and sleeping with his secretary isn't something he would have done in season one or two. I don't think it's a decision, I think it's an inability to control what he used to control.

Remember the scene earlier in the series when the doctor begins telling him he's not far off from it catching up to him. Well, I think following this interlude of late 1963 to early 1965, we're finally seeing his body start to give out the way his life did last season.

At the office party, Don put his arm around Joan. Not sure if it was just me, but looked like his hand may have gone a little low. Anyone else catch that, or was it just me and my eyes getting caught looking at Joan from behind? Anywho, methinks Don making a pass at Joan could spell doom for him.

I was almost expecting him not to be able to complete his conquest of his secretary.

    OK, question....

During the Christmas party, I think when the Lucky Strike guy is taking the Santa pics, did anyone else hear what sounded like a couple having sex in the background, like in one of the offices? Maybe it was just me. It was after the conga line scene. I was thinking it was the couple that was making out in that room.

No, I heard it too. Very subtle.

I actually thought that's what had happened when she said, "Well!" Like "Don't worry about it."

But then it was apparent that was not the case.
