So the only woman Don/Dick has ever actually liked is going to die.

And Dick Wittman is a helluva lot nicer guy than Don Draper.

I loved when Layne starts yelling at the woman in fake Japanese during Godzilla.

And the comedian in the club who things Don & Lane are gay.

And then the two hookers show up

    "You're not queers, you're RICH!"

The episode was an emotional rollercoaster

Lane was awesome. I don't think he is stodgy because he wants to be, I think he is stodgy because he has to be.

Joan is a dirty little slut. I can't believe she has had a pair of abobos.

It's interesting how Don portrayed Betty breaking his heart in this episode. He made it seem like Betty didn't want him once she found out he wasn't from money. But we know that's not the case anyway because he was a poor farm boy.

Can't believe Don tried to get on that college chick. Creepy dude.

And I'm still waiting to see what's going on at the old ad agency, or at least what has happened to those who remained. What is Kinsey and that one tall guy up to?

Lots of stuff in this one.

I oddly found GREAT satisfaction when Layne said that to Joan. I actually have this sense that while it might not be a key story line, they might kind of become allies because of that, and the flower mishap.

I know! Not that I know what the going rate for whores is or was, but that seemed awfully low for an attractive one, who didn't seem to be a man or anything.

I got the feeling that Don was just saying a lower price because (1) He didn't want Lane to know how much money he blows on that, regularly; and (2) Lane clearly wanted to pay his part, but Don didn't want him to because he wanted to treat him. So he let him pay a little bit. Win-win.

Also explains why Lane threw in five extra bucks, just because he knew it was more but didn't want to argue about it or embarrass Don.

Don's quickly becoming, to paraphrase "Just a man in a room writing checks," to a lot of women.
Anne's sister said that, Betty pretty much thinks that, the ladies of the evening know that and Allison is thinking that.
Slowly starting to see the elimination of every main character's family life making the workplace the one spot for any form of family.
Don and Lane scenes, even going back to last season were always edgy and full of tension, nice to see each cut loose around each other and share in each other's misery.
And finally, what was up with Don's face in the final scene? That's a new look from him.

He ramains firmly on the "down" escalator. The body falling from the highrise
    remains a viable possibility.
