Don/Dick generally has one or two eps a season where the show's mostly about him, ala the Palm Springs/San Pedro jaunt, etc.

The more I watch Mad Men, the more I believe Peggy is based on this woman:

I can totally see her character arc going there, especially since the show (as well as the Sopranos) has a strong female presence. A great businesswoman on her own, Ms. Wells eventually married Jack Lawrence, the CEO of Braniff Airlines. Fascinating woman.

They're called bottle shows as I discovered from Allan Sepinwall's blog on one episode of "Breaking Bad'

    http://www.hitfix.com/blogs/whats-alan-watching/posts/breaking-bad-fly-the-best-bottle-show-ever

But I want to start off with sausage-making because it was clear to me that "Fly" was what's known in the industry as "a bottle show" - that is, an episode of the series shot almost entirely on existing sets, with a minimum of guest stars. The idea is to keep the budget as small as possible, so that you can then spend whatever money you saved on another episode down the road. (Or, in some cases, so you can compensate for a previous episode that cost more than anticipated.)

Wow, that link is fascinating. The roster of their slogans for various products is incredible.

Hamm's acting is amazing. The veins popping on his head during that hug... The final look he gives at the table...

No way does Draper/Whitman off himself.

On a side note, I presented to a groups of about 30 people last week, and they were all well educated professionals, and only two people recognized Draper. Only one of the two watched the show.

    Shocking.

Felt that way when the actors I was working with had never heard of "The Wire". We are here to educate.

It's true that the hype and the media coverage doesn't match the ratings.
