    Mad Men

    Breaking Bad

    Rubicon

    The Walking Dead

That's it. They'll add "The Killing" in January, according to this:

If I asked 30 people off the street if they watched Jersey Shore, how many would say yes? I'm going to guess more than one.

I hope the Rubicon soon becomes the "the walking dead."

    Show is fucking awful.

You have to understand the way these things work. You focus group story I found silly, to be blunt.

AMC is not a destination the way competitors like HBO and MTV are. HBO and MTV have had years to build their brand. My question asking about original series was meant to illustrate that point.

If AMC's (and Mad Men's) target audience is not white, well educated and between the ages of 35-50, then you know a lot more about this than I do.

Those were the people I was speaking to, and I found it odd that they were not watching the show.

I would expect no one watching the show if I asked 30 people in a Wal Mart or a Dollar General.

    You're right.

    Nobody watches.

    Your research shows that.

I have a busy day. Carry on.

I think a lot of younger people 20-30 also watch the show. I'm addicted to it as are many friends my age (23-27)

We could just look at the ratings themselves. Mad Men gets about 2.5 million viewers, Jersey Shore gets about 5 million.

    Mad Men=Breaking Bad=The Wire.

I was continually surprised at the number of people--many in the arts community--who had never heard of The Wire. Astonishing.

As HC pointed out, many of her colleagues she performed with in The Sound of Music hadn't heard about it either. And they are professional actors.

And I managed to watch 15 minutes of the first episode of Jersey Shore. Dumbing down doesn't even begin to describe it.

I'm excited to see The Walking Dead. Zombies gonna take over the entertainment world next year ala vampires the last couple of years (True Blue, Twilight).

If you're a zombie man, you must be reading "The Passage". :D

I really don't know when you started thinking this was doctorial-based research, but it was not.

Lighten up and put a steak next to your belt buckle.
