I love how Joan got her revenge on Don by hiring Mrs. Blakenship. He won't be hitting on her.

. . . and Cosgrove's back in the show -- at least for a while -- as broadly hinted prior to this season's beginning

Peggy putting on her Joan dress, giving Allison the same speech Joan gave in Season 1. Peggy always wanted to be free like Joan and she's going for it.

Her Kitty Foyle dress . . . but, yeah, if she didn't look to Joan for omniscient wisdom in certain life
    areas, she'd be an idiot.

Why does Joan need to get her revenge on Don?

Because Joan is an early feminist and can't stand the way Don treats women. She also knows that she could chew him up and spit him out for lunch. And Don knows that too.

Disagree that it has anything to do with that, JR. Joan isn't a feminist. But she's like Don used to be in that she believes personal life shouldn't interfere with work. We've seen this countless times in the series. She doesn't care that Don slept with Allison. She cares that it became a thing in her domain -- the office. Blankenship is a subtle message to Don (get your shit togehter), but it has nothing to do with feminism.

A holy shit memoment after reading Sepinwall's blog -- the actress who played Mrs. Blankenship (Randee Heller) also played Ralph Macchio's mom in "The Karate Kid." Either she was wearing aging makeup, or it's been a rough 25 years.

Probably this is no news to the rest of you but Jared Harris (plays Layne Price) is the son of Richard Harris. As soon as I read that I thought "Of course!". You can certainly see the resemblance.

I didn't know that. Very cool.

Have to say, Peggy peaking at Don from above the cubicle was an All Time Moment for me.

Yeah, I thought that was pretty goofy and hilarious too.
