Joan is as far from a feminist as you can get. She could be like Peggy, but she still caters to the men.

Peggy is the feminist, and I think, the most interesting character on the show. Her reactions to everything just draw me in. From telling the secretary to get herself together instead of being a shoulder to cry on to just brushing off being hit on by the Life girl, Peggy just amazes me. In one episode Don catches her playing with a ring and then she is cheating on her possibly future husband with a hippy dude hiding in the closet (nice work there director) from the police.

I also loved the glass divider between Peggy and Pete (who is a true cocksucker) in the scene where she is moving forward with her generation and Pete is left with the old boys. Nice work by the director there as well.

And yes, the looking over the wall into Don's office was awsome.

Oh, did the guy get his pears? Think Don is a little afraid of being an old man alone by himself?

An awesome shot, which makes me laugh every time I think about it.

Incidentally, the director you keep praising was John Slattery, who plays Roger.

And I don't think Pete is a cocksucker. For one thing, he treated Peggy a whole lot better after their fling then Don did Allison after theirs.

And I thought Pete's reaction (just smiled, nodded and didn't say anything) when his father-in-law called him a "son of a bitch" for muscling him into giving up the Vick's account was awesome.

Just caught up to all four episodes in a week, whew! That was a great rollercoaster ride.

Last episode was hilarious and poignant. Peggy is a nice character rounding into form just like Don; I guess that's the intended balance. Peggy peeking to Draper's office is one of the funniest things I've seen since Seinfeld. Love her dip into the counterculture. (Didn't the Time/Life girl look like Rafa Nadal's twin sister?) The end of the episode as pointed out above with Peggy venturing out and Pete left behind was a nice contrast.

Jon Hamm is a joy to watch as an actor. He's not just a smirk or a smile or some other trademark. He's been devious, masculine, soft, everything. He's the first guy where I've noticed his veins popping out in his neck. I'm glad to hear he wants to stay in this as long as the show runs.

Help me please, Anne was the original Don Draper's wife, correct? The photo she sent him was them when they were younger, when did she and Whitman first meet? Was it just when Don got back from Korea?

Yes. She actually looked him up at some point and he "divorced" her.

And she is the only woman who accepts him for being "him" and not the cool ad guy from Mid Town.

Don't forget Suzanne. That show might not be over.

There's a time period which we haven't seen in the flashbacks -- after she confronts Dick/Don at the auto dealership and I guess before he asks for permission to divorce her in order to marry Betty.

Thought the image in the last scene was a bit too obvious, but still well done. I liked the part with Peggy at the Village party -- enjoying the possibilities of these new people, but not quite buying in.

And man, that new receptionist is very easy on the eyes -- I can see why lesbian Sarah Silverman was interested.

Yeah, on reflection you're probably right but I'd say that when feminism gets really rolling, Joan will be right there.

Just got an email telling me I can buy Don Draper's desk.

Charity auction on eBay, the bidding for a walk-on role is currently at $16,300. You can get a Sterling Cooper conference room chair for around $150:
