    Or a 10-year-old.

Thought the hair looked a lot like mommy's.

Peggy on the scooter was fun.

Another great line was when Joan said "they aren't subtle are they."

The translator said "no they aren't."

Both of those had me laughing.

JFK shoved hats as standard daytime wear for businessmen right off the cliff.

I think that's intentional with Draper and hats. He just keeps falling a little more out of step.

I agree on the hat thing. It may be that Draper just is clinging to the past while wearing the hat.

The whole psychiatrist/masterbation thing is a sign of those times. Back then, masterbation was seen as something majorly evil and people who did it were seen as mentally disturbed.

With other folks in the room? Maybe. As solitaire? Popular, only forever.

I loved the Pete Campbell line when Bert Cooper was making his comment about segregation. He said something like "What do they want?' and Pete's reply was classic: "Lassie can stay in the Waldorf Astoria and they can't" Only caught that on the second viewing.

I'm starting to like Pete a little more. The way he confronted Roger after his racist remarks and behaviour showed the guy does have some spine.

    I completely missed that, too.

While I don't like Pete -- and, really, how could we after he essentially raped his neighbor's au pair -- I like Pete's character in the context of the show. I think it's interesting that, even though he's a giant douche, he's repeatedly shown as the guy who is most progressive about civil rights/equal rights at the agency.

Is Draper really that out of step? Business-wise? I don't get that impression. I think he needs to be cajoled at times, particularly by Pete, but I thought the Janssen's thing was one major indication that he wasn't going to be stuck in the past.

Okay - here is my nickel's worth on the hat thing. Dick Whitman has been "playing a role" - now he is being forced to be himself (his ex-wife knows his secret, his "half-wife" is dying) and he is holding on to his "costume" - the hat - for dear life.

You're right, he is a douche but I've gone from thinking he was the worst person on the show to giving him some grudging recognition as a kind of "with it" guy.

In my opinion Betty Draper is officially the least likeable person right now.
