Great pull, but man, you are looking too deep into this. Could it have been summer?

I also loved seeing the phone from Toy Story 3 in the Dr.'s office. Lil 93 has the same phone from my wife, and I wonder if it even predates my wife's childhood (1970s).

And Don is a genius at business, and just so freeking cool. "Think of it as severance." Damn.

Think of it as a gross overreaction.

Nah, Don, you can never be freaking wrong, in terms of treatment of anyone
who can't get back at you. Steinbrenneresque.

No, Don knows he is flawed. He just cannot figure out how to cure himself without giving up women.

California number not answering had to be tough on him.

Maybe she's no longer around and sister is not about to let him know?

  7. U.N.C.L.E. episode aired March 15, 1965. My point is that time often seems like a fluid concept in Mad Men.

Maybe it was a summer rerun?

No, the date on the check that Don gave the Japanese guys was in March.
I strongly suspect that because of the obsessives who nitpick the show, the producers have doubled up on getting every little detail right.

DOUG: Hi. Question for Ms. Bellamy. In episode 2F09, when Itchy plays Scratchy's skeleton like a xylophone, he strikes the same rib twice in succession, yet he produces two clearly different tones. I mean, what are we to believe, that this is some sort of a... (sniggering) magic xylophone or something? Boy, I really hope somebody got fired for that blunder.

    BELLAMY: Uh, well, uh...

HOMER: I'll field that one. Let me ask you a question. Why would a man whose shirt says "Genius at Work" spend all of his time watching a children's cartoon show?

DOUG: (embarrassed) I withdraw my question. (eats a chocolate bar)

    Nice, Steak.

I heard there was a scene deleted where Sally Draper rushes into the room, slaps a $1 bill on the countertop and screams, "I'm out!"

Couple years back, my oldest boy got a pair of scissors, chopped up his hair, and cut his younger brother's. My wife and I cracked up laughing.

Shows how different generations react to such things. Back then, it was "Oh my God, she cut her hair!"
