My cousin's 9 year old daughter cut her hair a few months ago and my cousin was furious and didn't speak to her for 5 days. Same with a friend of mine and her daughter. So, in my experience, it's not a generational thing.

Why so furious where you don't speak to the child for five days? It's hair. It grows back. It's not like she set the house on fire or anything.

Hair means a lot to women. And sometimes hair cutting can be sign of depression or a non-lethal form of self-mutilation.

And the woman in Daddy's apartment has short hair.

It's also a decision made by someone whose parents probably don't consider her old enough to make her own decisions.

    "When does he start?"

"How about the first of never."

    That was funny.

And it looks like they're showing Don following in Roger's footsteps, with alcohol now starting to affect how he lives and works.

Picking up a waitress and fucking her is a classic Jimmy McNulty move.

McNulty was classier than the Draper of last night.

    Right down the chute.

Having the episode's Clios on the actual night of the Emmys was amusing.

Yep, right down to his hiring decisions. In the flashbacks, Roger hired Don during a drunken haze, just like Don stole one of the kid's slogans --- and therefore had to hire him --- during his own bender.

Interesting that they took Joan to the awards, rather than someone who actually worked on the campaign, though I'm sure that was Roger's call. And I thought it was funny that she was holding hands with both Don and Roger when their category came up.

Great scene with Don in bed during the night and when it becomes day, he's in bed with another girl.
What a fantastic way of showing someone going on a bender they don't remember.
Don's taste in women is slipping as well.

Not so much his taste, but the types of women he's able to attain. He keeps getting rebuffed by the focus group lady, remember.

And I gotta say I'm digging Peggy's new assertiveness. She really put the piggish copywriter in his place.
