  3. Can someone help explain something to me, though? I think I mised something. Anna was thought to be the only one who knew the Dick/Don conundrum. Yet when Anna died, the neice, Stephanie, called his office and left a message with his secretary, who clearly would have answered "Don Draper's office." Does Stephanie know ??????

Sepinwall made the point that they curiously left that hanging ... that Stephanie should have questioned why Dick was going by the name of her dead uncle.

I imagine Anna would have told Stephanie the Dick/Don story during the time she was living with and caring for her, perhaps when she gave her Don's office number to call in case of emergency.

The cover created some buzz but the Rolling Stone article on Mad Men was really good.

Interesting to note that most of the cast was largely unwanted when Weiner put them together.

Draper, who, oddly, is really tight with Paul Rudd, was mostly known as the boyfriend of the girl from Kissing Jessica Stein. Hendricks had done some commercials and some bit TV parts. January Jones was the same way.

    It was very interesting.

I'd post a link but I think Rolling Stone puts everything behind a paywall, so like buy a copy or read it at the grocery store.

January Jones was a print model, did a lot for A&F.

Robert Morse (Cooper) was the lead in "How to succeed in business without really trying," both on Broadway and in the film. He also played Truman Capote in a one-man show called "Tru" that ran 20 years ago on Broadway. Nommed for five Tonys, won twice.

January Jones was in a few movies, most notably playing one of the American hotties the British guy hooks up with in "Love, Actually."

John Slattery played the head of the CIA in "Charlie Wilson's War," the guy whose office window Philip Seymour Hoffman breaks with a hammer.

Elisabeth Moss, obviously, played the president's daughter in "The West Wing."

The rest of the main cast I'd never seen before.

January Jones grew up here in the Des Moines area (one of the smaller towns nearby). Her mom stopped by an acquaintance's boutique shop and bought a gown for January to wear to the Emmys about two years ago.

Back to the Don/Peggy lecture scene. Finally watched it tonight. Wow, wow, wow, wow. Give Elisabeth Moss an Emmy now. The hell with waiting for next year. This season is her coming out party.

I really hope Double Down breaks this episode down, because not many do it better.

    A few random thoughts...

Didn't American Tourister use the gorilla in the cage with a suitcase? That could be Don's downfall if it is not his idea.

Peggy has seen Don at his lowest, and Don has seen Peggy at her lowest.

I am trying to get my head around how brash Peggy is in this time period. Walking into a men's room? That is a big deal, and her staring at a urinal pointed that out.

Yes, the acting was amazing. Probably the most believable crying I have ever seen.

My favorite scene was at the bar where Peggy alluded to Don that her looks are not what is going to get her through life, and Don complementing her just enough.

I have a feeling in a few seasons, Don will be working for Peggy.

I was so waiting for Don to pop out his real name to Peggy and spill his guts to her.

John Slattery was also the "golden shower guy" on Sex and the City.
