I remember seeing Dakota Fanning interviewed when she was a child actor, and she was talk in full paragraphs, as well. My educated guess is that Shipka will be one of these child actors that end up getting a degree at Harvard or something, then re-emerge in Hollywood as a well-adjusted character actor. I don't think she's going to be Lindsay Lohan, that's for sure.

As much as we're told that Hollywood types are vapid, there are some very bright people in the arts. I'm consistently jealous of Rolling Stone writers when I read what their subjects have to say compared to some of the athletes we interview.

I don't doubt that she is very smart. She gives such nuanced performances and I think you have to be bright in order to do that. I just think those quotes were too "written" and sounded like a publicist.

The great thing about the Sally character is that I'm sure that the character is written how the writers remember the time. In a way, she is the "narrarator" of the show. Notice the camera angles they use. Usually looking up at the action - as if viewed by a child.

The only reason I can possibly think of that this thread isn't boiling on page 1 of this part of the board is that everybody is paralyzed by tonight's astounding goings-on.

Unreal episode. I will need at least a day to process it all.

Agreed. It almost seemed like there was too much going on to digest. I'm thinking a rewatch is in order to figure out what all happened.

Sets up an insane end to the season that could top Season 3.

There is usually one solid laugh an episode - not so tonight.

The way the Lucky Strike thing went down was crazy.
Same with Joan (she didn't seem especially upset - though the brief shot of the bus ride was straight out of Nighthawks- the painting).
Don and Pete, Pete's wife in a maternity negligee?
Lane? Holy crap on multiple levels.
    A happy Sally?
I still don't buy the "falling man" theory - though there seemed to be whispers tonight.

It's Joan's third. Practically routine, at this point.

My daughter doesn't believe Joan went through with it.

That doesn't fit with my thinking, but that's her assessment.

Nope she absolutely didn't go through with it.

    Joan: We avoided a tragedy.

That was the line that said it all. That and the uncomfortable scene a few episodes ago, where she asks the doc if she can still have kids. They didn't put that in there for nothing.

I am a week behind, but don't be suprised if Sally might have trouble reading.
