Everybody's got their niche. Though she's awkward in other areas, hers is copy -- and she's a ton better than Don is willing to regularly acknowledge, even now.

I'm wondering if Betty is having second thoughts sometimes about splitting with Don. At the end of last week's episode at the birthday party, everyone was like, "What's Don doing here?" and Betty kinda stood up for him.

Re: The birthday party. Betty changed her mind when her neighbor friend, Francine, made the comment that Betty has everything and Don has nothing. Betty is still acting pissy when on the phone and in other encounters with Don (ex. when picking Sally up at Don's office). I guess I don't buy the second thoughts thing.

Was that a picture of Betty on the wall at the Playboy Club?

Oh, Betty is a model. She wants the man who can get Beatles tickets.

I definitely think Betty is having second thoughts. That little smile about the Beatles tix told it. Also, that was amazing watching Don change through that episode. He was so vulnerable after the panic attack and then as soon as he figured a way out of the fix, he was back with the Don Draper face on. Also, I think he'll never go forward with the doctor now because she knows it all. Same reason he couldn't be with Betty. He needs to be Don Draper and they know he isn't. That's why he was checking out the secretary I think. And Roger could indeed be headed out the window. The world is changing and he can't, or won't, keep up. Also, I think she kept the kid. Because when that woman asked about her daughter, she said, "She's 15." After that, I surmise, she got up and left the office. Because what was she going to do when they called her name to come in there?

  8. I did not know that Jared Harris is the son of Richard Harris.

Just learned that Harris will play Moriarty in the next Sherlock Holmes movie.

It's got to be weird being on Mad Men. You are on a three-time Best Drama winner that has received a ton of press, but I've got to think Hamm might be the only actor on the show who clears $1 million a season.

Roger hasn't worked in a long, long time. He's been coasting on one piece,
and if he loses it, tough to envision him recovering in the brave, new world.

Not to mention he has knocked up a married woman who is not his wife and doesn't seem to be willing to leave her husband.

I suspect it's sort of like being in a Broadway play. The artistic cache outweighs the financial rewards. It's a show that everyone in the industry watch, though I doubt it has much crossover with those who watch DWTS or Who's Got Talent?

I felt too like it was left ambiguous on purpose as to whether Joan had the abortion. It struck me as odd that Sepinwall didn't see it that way. Seemed pretty clear it was "to be determined."
