    A few thoughts...

I get soooooo bored with Betty.

Backstage at the Rolling Stones concert was fantastic. Don is getting old and out of touch (won't go to the beach, won't have sex after the party), but it is becoming obvious that he does not understand today's youth.

When did Heinz start running the Carly Simon ads? Anticipation.... is making me wait. It's soooo good.

Pete is a twit. I cannot see how anyone likes him.

The Jewish prayer I think was a very big moment in the show. We think SCDP is lilly white, but they might be the only place in town with a black and Jewish staffers on the payroll.

Don and Harry together are great. I thought you bought those for your family. Get out Harry.

It's always darkest before the Dawn...

Bummer. Quite a gifted comic actor.

The other Darrin was more interesting in his personal life, apparently, than he ever was in the show.

Grey had a wide Jewish streak, only forever. Media friend of mine did very well with their media buyers because of Jewish connection (among other factors, of course . . . ). Duck Phillips' "nosh" aside from seasons back wasn't plucked from thin air . . .

And Pete's smart, isn't chained to the past, has futurevision, and the touch. He'll ram it right up Roger's behind before this month's out.

    Not until the late 1970s.

I thought it was just one more example of the generational gap. Don and his wife. Don and Harry and the concert-goers (and band). Roger and Pete.

The song itself didn't come out until 1972.

Campbell must be doing something right because he's the guy bringing in the clients. I know that does not make him the greatest partner but he's swinging the big one right now and everyone better pay attention or SCDP will cease to exist.

I actually kind of like Pete. He seems to have a social conscience, which not many other men in that office do.

He's pretty rapey for a guy with a social conscience.

He's also the only partner who didn't want to call security when all the black job applicants showed up in the SCDP lobby.

Can't help thinking half Bud Cort, half young Peter Lorre when I look at Kartheiser.

He has a problem with, and I hate to use such a light term in the context of rape, selfishness.

If something doesn't hurt him, he can be very progressive and cool.

But when he has a direct interest, whether it be his career or his sex drive, he's a whiny, self-serving jackass.

Does he get the airline without Roger boozing them up?

He went on two drinking binges with them. Pete is not the type of guy you want to drink with. At least I would not.
