I thought it was a great episode. As my wife said, it was less predictable than prior episodes, an unmoored ship floating. Yet it comes back to the table. With a 12 yrd old (boy), kind of sad that Sally had to see that. Sally's scenes with Roger were fantastic though. Will Roger get his mojo back?

If they revive Damn Yankees on Broadway again, I want Slattery as Mr. Applegate.

If anyone wants to remake Lolita, John Slattery and Kiernan Shipka would be great choices for the lead roles.

(I suppose it might be best to cast an 18-year-old who looks very young, though.)

Sterling remains one of the all time Crosby/Mitchum/Dean Martin-type "I don't give a shit" characters, ever.

I remember about 10 years ago Adrian Lynne remade "Lolita" and I think it went straight to video/DVD because studios were so worried about child porn laws. I think the actress was under 18.

How old is Sally supposed to be? I know it's a foregone conclusion that she's going to be a rebel lured in by the '60s counterculture, but isn't she a little young to be this show's Karen Arnold? It's 1966 already.

I don't think anything's a foregone conclusion with Sally Draper. She's 12. How much longer do you think this show will last? I'd be surprised if we got another four seasons, given the cost of production and comparatively low ratings.

Furthermore, you're right: She's too young for Woodstock, too young for the hippy generation at its most colorful. She'd be more likely to fall into the trappings of Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin. But I think Sally Draper is an individual, foremost. She's bright and probably too cynical for flower-power nonsense, even if she were the appropriate age. She's cold and distant, mostly.

The plan is to extend through a Season Seven (we're at Five, now), and wrap it.

Glen might be old enough to get into the counter culture, though. He's already taking trig, so he's in high school, right? Say he's 16 now, he'll be of age in 68...a tad late to the party but close.

He might be the link they use to introduce Sally to that scene. That would be pretty lazy, though.

Sally will go to Berkeley, maybe Brown...end up getting kidnapped by a couple of friends, rob a few banks, see a therapist for a few years, then join a cult...then wind up in San Fernando Valley.

Couldn't help but notice at an awards ceremony given by the American Cancer Society in 1966, almost everyone in the room was lighting up, except, possibly, for Sally.
