I think that scene of Peggy and Don also illustrates how much the time had changed and how, even though Don's still her boss, they've been through so much together that they're more like colleagues. And Don is now less powerful because the times have changed.

The Peggy of 1960 would just take Don's criticism and say, "Yes, sir." The Peggy of 1966 can tell Don to shut up, and 1966 Don just takes it. The 1960 Don would have thrown her out on the street.

Agreed...Pete's line to the insurance salesman on the train about how his current policy covers suicide after two years seemed to be overkill.

Am I the only one who wonders where Don was going when he tried to step on the elevator? He kisses his wife good-bye. The door closes and then he hits the button again. Maybe he forgot a meeting. Maybe he needed cigarettes. I dunno. Good thing this wasn't present day. He'd have been staring at his iPhone before getting scrapped out of the bottom of the elevator shaft.

Ditto on Peggy. Who tells him to shut up and get away with it besides her?

Either Megan is a terrific actress or the costumers/makeup people are great or both but there's quite a contrast between when she's down and when she's happy.

"Pizza House" was awesome (was she trying to sound German as well?)

I took it as him thinking for a second of going down to try to stop her from leaving.

And the pictures of the earth from the moon were taken August 23, 1966.

They've hinted at Don getting old in terms of pop culture, but last night was the first time I thought he physically looked old.

Suddenly Roger Sterling is the most equipped male --save for Stan Rizzo -- in the office for the cultural tsunami ready to hit in less than a year. He's unattached, he's turned on and he's killing Pete with kindness in a delightful fashion. I like this Roger. He should've dropped out years ago.

I bet he'd LOVE "Tomorrow Never Knows" at this point.

WSJ asked some people for a price tag on the use of Tomorrow Never Knows. Best guess is around $250,000.

If they sent January Jones packing and used the money to put more Beatles songs in the shows, I'm okay with that.

Betty appears in the teaser for next week's episode, so I don't think you'll get your wish just yet.
