This may be wishful thinking on my part, but it seems like he was hinting she was leaving, and then in the follow-up, backtracked. Maybe he misspoke and doesn't have a clue what the plans for her are.

It seems strange to me that they would just shuttle off essentially the second main character on the show. Her arc feels incomplete right now at Sterling Draper Cooper Price. I guess that's what happens in real life, but it still won't be the same without her there, and getting her back to the firm would feel contrived after that exit. This isn't "The Office."

I can see a storyline in which Don is trying to get a major client, and his main competition is Peggy.

...and he loses and it's not even close.

The show is pretty far out of balance right now, with Peggy leaving and Joan now a partner. The show has always kind of felt like an upstairs downstairs kind of thing between the partners and non-partners, but now I can't name a single "non-suit."

Ginsberg is set up to be a major character now. But your point is well-taken. They need to rebuild their bench.

I keep wondering how Don deals with the fact that his actions have (apparently) directly led to two people committing suicide.

If, as Weiner has said, he wants to show the audience what "all this meant" 40 years later, he has to at least bring back Peggy for the finale. We have to know what her struggle meant.

Is it possible Moss wanted off the show? I can't imagine getting a better gig right now than Mad Men.

She might have needed to cleanse some Thetans.

She's a Scientologist, no? Maybe Tom Cruise has movie plans for her

I'm sure he processes it that way, but Lane Price's actions led to Lane Price's suicide. No one else's. Don was actually as compassionate as possible in that situation.

I know he's just a television character, but I'm almost angry at Lane for selecting that way out. He was leaving a great situation, but he was leaving it with his reputation intact. He made a rash decision, and even got a reprieve when the car wouldn't start, and now there is no tomorrow.

I've never forged someone's name, but I've messed up before. There is always a tomorrow.

Having dealt with this with one of the most important people in my life (and been in that vicinity myself) you honestly don't see any way for the pain you're in to end. The fact that Lane's first method didn't work and he was set on his path enough to find an alternate method indicates to me that he was in an overwhelming amount of emotional pain that he couldn't see any end to. Broke my heart.
