For how fake the Price/Campbell fight looked, that suicide sure seemed like a pretty realistic creation.

I guess we can call Mad Men a true period piece now, huh?

    Actually, it's correct.

People who work as creatives in ad agencies generally don't stay more than 2-3 years before moving on elsewhere, then and now. Staying on for seven, as Peggy did is quite rare, unless your boss gives you a major case of Stockholm Syndrome, you're senior management, or you have skin in the game.

    Thank you, sir.

And btw-there are so many inside jokes on that show for people who are actually in the ad biz. It is and always has been note-perfect in that regard, in ways that most people won't understand.

My guess is that it just goes away now, but I would love it if Burt Cooper had some more questions about that check and the circumstances of Lane's death.

From his point of view, he sees an unauthorized check from Don to Lane, Don cryptically promises to take care of it, and then Lane hangs himself without adequate explanation. He's got to have some questions.

I do wonder if that check will somehow come back to bite Don.

I had a flash of excitement when I wondered if maybe Burt would think that Lane caught on to Don's secret and Don made him go away, but he knows Don has enough money to make that go away without using the company accounts.

I gotta think the finale's going to include some questions -- from Cooper or from the police -- that won't get answered until next season.

On the subject of Draper's list of conquests, Mark Lisanti of Grantland penned the following:

"Remember when literally every encounter he had with a female between the ages of 21 and 45 resulted in spontaneous sexual combustion? No waitress, coat-check girl, comedian's wife, schoolteacher, stewardess, junkie artist, department store heiress, elevator passenger, focus-group mind-violator, secretary, secretary, secretary, hand model, deli counter attendant, meter maid, secretary, podiatry nurse, or Gabor in the tri-state area (or California) was safe from Don's heat-seeking meat-missile for a good four seasons."

Maybe we can all complete the roster. I'll start.

    waitress - ?
    coat-check girl- ?
comedian's wife - Bobbie Barrett (gross)
    schoolteacher - Ms. Farrell
stewardess - The blonde in the Baltimore hotel
    junkie artist - Midge
department store heiress - Rachel Mencken
elevator passenger - Andrea, the horny freelancer
    focus-group mind-violator - Dr. Faye Miller
    secretary - Allison
    secretary - Megan
    secretary - ?

Unless I'm wrong, "hand model, deli counter attendant, meter maid, secretary, podiatry nurse and Gabor" were just thrown in to be funny. Who am I missing?

I've often wondered if Weiner lulled us to sleep on the issue of Don's identity theft, making us think it's not an issue when he'll find a way to make it matter again.

Am I the only one who did not know that the actor who plays Freddy Rumsen is Bill Murray's brother, Joel Murray?

    I hope not.

It reminds me of Charlie's heroin addiction on "LOST." At some point, that storyline is played out. Time to move on.
