So I'm watching tonight's ep and I see Jon Hamm in one of the first scenes out of context and I think to myself, that guy looks like Don Draper, but he isn't
"Don Draper." Sure enough it was a flashback scene. Thought Hamm did an amazing job stripping off the layers of cynicism built up on the character for those couple of scenes. Turns out "Don Draper" is just another product he's been selling all these years since the war, and he's not really sure its any good.

"You have your children to think about."

    "I just have the one."

    "Really?"

Holy crap, that was an awesome exchange.

And I love the relationship between Don and the original Mrs. Draper. Just a pitch perfect tone.

Jon Hamm hosting SNL next week. That should be fun.

The end of last night's episode had me wondering this: Will Pete try to nail Don again with the whole Dick Whitman stuff for the new bosses? Obviously, Cooper, the guy in Don's corner ("Who cares?") when Pete tried the first time, is no longer in charge.
I also wonder if Betty found out about the other Mrs. Draper when she opened the phone bill that one time. It was just a weird thought I had.

So...did Don sleep with the original Mrs. Draper?

  5. Who hasn't Don slept with?

The other funny bit was Peggy selling the Popscicle spot, I didn't really understand Peggy when she said "Catholics really know how to sell a product" until I realized the artwork had the "mother" with the "halo" behind her head like Jesus breaking the popscicle like the Euchrist. Very clever.

Your prayers were answered last week, so you can stop now.

last night's show advanced the plot along, but it wasn't an instant classic like some of the previous episodes.

I suspect that Pete knows that Don is divorced and that's the thing that he knows.

I also enjoyed the shoutout to The Day the Earth Stood Still, since Hamm is in the remake.

Hip to that, but Weiner MUST be part of the deal.
