I agree. This is where the women writers of that show are overindulging themselves.

Perhaps I have not been paying attention the past two years but has Draper always had this much of a conscience? They land the "whale" and he's the only one who says hold on? I did not see Gene leaving so quickly.

Well, to be fair, Cooper has a bit of a conscience, too. After all, he apparently made that meeting with the jai alai dude's father happen. And I think Gene may reappear in Sally's dreams or something. I think she is going to struggle with Grandpa's death.

She got extremely close to Gene in a short period of time, and she's at the age where she's struggling to process relationships like that. I'm really starting to despise Betty. She's just a shitty mom.

For a second I thought it was going to end with Sally immolating herself like the news report. That might be a little over the top for this show.

I know this show isn't going to get into the 1970s, but is there any doubt that the Sally character ends up in porn?

And I guess I just didn't notice it, but seeing a prego Betty smoking and drinking was interesting and handled in such a way that it didn't bring attention to itself.

My favorite part of this episode was when Grandpa Gene was letting Sally drive. That was hilarious.

People (including my mother) didn't think a thing of it. The similar thing that struck me was, I think it was last season, when they were on a family picnic in a park, and when they were done they just shook all the garbage off the blanket and walked away. Seems so outrageous now, but would have been nothing then.

Peggy's possible roommate could be my roomie any time ... as long as she doesn't get blood on my leg. :)

Yep that picnic scene was hilarious.

Funny also how Gene did not think that standing on her feet was good for the baby but Fire up another cancer stick? No problem.

To be fair, he did say, "No one likes watching you commit suicide every day."
