Watching Betty's seething anger during the fundraiser when it's clear Henry isn't showing, and then seeing her act on it was awesome. January Jones just nails this role.

Sal ... poor, poor Sal. The bite and the fury in the two simple words, "you people," that was just heartbreaking.

And good lord, Don is Connie's bitch now. No two ways about it. And once someone had made him his bitch, he decided he had to go make the teacher his bitch.

That will clearly not end well.

I read somewhere in the analysis of this epsiode that Don went to the teacher because Conrad Hilton had told Don he was like a son to him, and now Don felt like he let this father figure down big time. Also have to love how Don doesn't care about the consequences of such actions but Betty does. When reality hit, she backed away - the fantasy of it all was better; and it would be ruined with reality.

And would Roger have dressed down Don like that pre-contract signing? Probably not.

Really good episode (despite no Joan!) and you have to feel for Sal. He ended up in a place he shouldn't be in (both being fired and in the pick-up park).

I predict Sal files a landmark sexual discrimination case.

OK, maybe not. But he'd do it today, which is probably the point.

BTW - Christina Hendricks got married over the weekend to some lucky slob.
Man did I love this episode. Opens with Pete coughing up a lung on the set of cigarette commercial and seeing a pissed off Don Draper is awesome.
How was your day? As he reaches for the bottle.
Chewing out Peggy and the team. His scene with Sal. Beautiful stuff. Nice to see him under someone's thumb, whether it's the teacher or Hilton. it's really shown Hamm's range. Chelcie Ross is doing a great job with Hilton. And Sterling's reaction to the Lucky Strike guy bolting was hilarious. Love that guy.

Don and Betty and 90 percent of the population at the time were "dinosaurs." They were people of those times. And the times changed.

If you check back a few pages, I predicted Don would nail the teacher by Fourth of July. I was two months off. Got her by the first week of school.

Christina Hendricks married the goofball who licked the police cruiser window in Super Troopers and said, "The Snozzberries taste like Snozzberries."

For your viewing pleasure, January Jones (slightly NSFW):

I thought of that, too. But then, with the contract, what could they do to him?
