I read one episode recap where they theorized that Joan was so po'd about Roger and his new secretary love (and how he barely gave her the time of day when he went into Don's office) that she displaced that anger onto Kinsey. Of course, they also have had words due to his relationship, so that also could have certainly have been a factor.

That episode was depressing, creepy, funny (Kinsey on the bus) ... and I can't wait until next week (and am already bummed the season is almost over).

Is it just me or was that John McCain playing Betty's dad? Really weird likeness.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least if they went for that likeness, intentionally.

Joan dumped Kinsey because he was a kiss-and-tell guy. They talked about that during the office party on election night (Kennedy-Nixon).

  5. At Harry's baby shower, he opens a present and says, "This is nice; it's from Roger." Paul says with a shit-eating grin, "And Jane..." as Joan is passing by, right before Draper asks her to meet with him.

AMC's foreshadowing as much, pretty emphatically. They meet some "exciting new friends"? Gee, wonder where we're headed, with that?

Much more bizarre than even I expected.

Just because I'm a Mad Men nerd, this week I found out that the guy playing Captain Von Trapp in "The Sound of Music" here in Toronto is the brother of Mark Moses who plays Duck on "Mad Men". I post this because you're the only people who would be impressed.

That episode did have some strangeness in it - but also quite fascinating, and drawing so many questions for future epsiodes.

Another board mentioned that the final shot of Don Draper was the opposite of the opening shot in the credits.

What's going on with Don (and those creepy people he's with)? Who did he call? Where was Betty at the end? Is Duck setting himself for a big fall (loved the line "to old friends" as he held up his drink)? How f'd is Roger going to be soon? What must Sal be thinking? Will Kinsey come back a new man and not so high-and-mighty after his Mississippi experience? And ol' Pete - looking forward to California so much and then being ignored by the women (while Draper gets a nice, young girl oh-so-easily).

Man, I love this show. Sad there's only a couple left.

    Duck has nothing to lose.

He's a repulsive douche, but last night, he played what cards he has, pretty well.

Show does a great job of taking you through gamut of emotions. Consider Duck: Seems like an organization man, blecch! Then you feel sorry for the guy the way his marriage/family breaks up (poor Irish setter!). Then Don gets him pinned down, but shows some mercy. Then he asks for partnership that, really, he might not deserve (airlines fiasco). Then he wheels and deals into this leverage position, where he's either going to win big or lose big. As for Roger, he's going to lose big one way or the other.

Who WAS Draper calling at the end? He's gone from burying the "Dick Whitman" identity to denying it and now, finally, leading with it for the phone call.
