Dick Whitman, would you vote Jason Kidd into the Basketball Hall of Fame?

I don't think so, because the Hall of Fame doesn't. Nowhere on the plaques or in the museum does it point out when a player was inducted, whether first, fifth or 15th time. Even their website doesn't have a list of first-timer ballot guys. The only thing is that the plaques are arranged by year of induction. So the only way to know a guy is a first ballot is to do the math based on his final year of play on the plaque and compared it to his induction year.

We have a lot of great baseball minds around these parts, but unfortunately a lot of them don't participate in these discussions because of all the non-sense trolling. It's quite discouraging as a member that loves to talk about these type of topics.

    It's not just this forum.
Hall of Fame discussions serve as an ideal habitat for trolls.
Like a 98.6-degree host for tapeworm.
The passions are already inflamed to begin with.
The principal actors take themselves deadly seriously.
The Marchmans and Maddens have already poisoned the dialogue beyond return.
Trolls can just hop right in and do their thing.
I mean, look at the number of troll posts on this thread for the last three pages.

He's an admitted cheater and wife-beater. You won't vote for Mark McGwire or Jameis Winston. Why would you vote for Jason Kidd?

I laughed into the air at "great baseball minds."

I thought that was highly questionable, myself.
But I do think we have far better educated baseball fans here than NFL fans.
In terms of historical perspective, there is no comparison.
This is a site where Aikman's statistical corpus was called into question.
    The height of ignorance.

We're talking about Kidd spilling his water?

Anything beats the NBA threads. We probably do best on college football and MLB.

And Dick Whitman, we are talking about morality in sports.
