    db?

In all, the three managers being inducted oversaw at least 34 players who've been implicated as PED users and never noticed a thing wrong.

The way a reasonable, level-headed human being might have responded to my post:

"While indeed it seems like there are voters who leave off first-year candidates simply because they don't yet have room for them on their ballot, as evidenced by the voter leaving Frank Thomas off in favor of Jeff Bagwell, I still maintain that, even were no one facing this conundrum, unanimity would be difficult to earn because there still exist voters who believe in an absolute first-year bar."

The way I might have responded to such a post:

"Interesting point. I would very much enjoy looking through all ballots to see if, indeed, a voter left off all first-year candidates, but did not at the same time vote for the 10-player maximum. It's unfortunate that all ballots are not made public. Then we would be able to settle this once and for all."

Doesn't change the point that pulling my comments out of context while whining about them was dishonest, which is why I asked you to stop lying and reminded folks that you have developed a fondness for trolling.

I'm four-fifths of the way toward another bingo -- all I need is either "idiot/idiotic/idiocy" or "stupid/stupidly/stupidity" -- and I still haven't been paid for my first one. I'm going to take this up with the state bingo commission if this keeps up.

Here comes some variation of "I'm trying to advance the conversation while you idiots are just stupidly attacking me and adding nothing to the thread."

Re: the HOF voters who are just gonna be damned if they'll EVER vote anyone in on the first ballot (stipulating that there truly are a few/several/many of those):

In Seasons in Hell the writer mentions some old fixture in Dallas named Merle Heryford. The story goes that when Larson was pitching his perfecto some copy boy ran up and told him about it, to which Heryford replied, "He'll never do it." Later, when told Larson had indeed done it, Heryford supposedly chewed on his cigar a moment and then said, "Well ... he'll never do it again."
