But we need to respect the writers who have votes, they are so much smarter than the rest of us.

Howard Bryant and Mark Kreidker each go fir four.

Both pick Maddux. Glavine and Thomas. Bryant added Morris. Kreidler chose Biggio.

Jack Morris' ERA over 18 seasons: 3.90.

Hittable workhorse. If that's what inhabits the Hall, so be it. Just everyone understand what he was.

Is there any chance Maddux stays at 100 percent?

I hope he does, because if any player should be the first to hit that mark, he'd be a damn good one. Maybe some NY guy won't vote for him so Jeter will be the first to get to 100 percent. :D

Mike Dyer becomes the second known non-Glavine vote. Goes with Maddux, Clemens, Bonds, Piazza, F. Thomas, Palmeiro, Sosa, Raines, L. Walker, E. Martinez.

They don't make bigger tools than Dan Shaughnessy.
What a joke that this clown even has a vote.

Don't forget Jay Mariotti still has a HOF vote and he's a bigger tool than Shaughnessy.

Maybe this has been done somewhere, but I wonder what all HOF pitching inductees' ERAs would be if they were adjusted for typical impact of DH. Applying this to all pitchers prior to 1973 and those who logged time in the NL since then, we would see some inflation, right? Plugging that 9-hole with an everyday hitter might have impacted HOF pitchers' performances in other ways, too.

    Isn't that ERA-plus?
