Your defense is ridiculous as Gurnick is ruling out everyone who played in the era. Not just those players who were caught cheating or are highly suspected of cheating but anyone who threw a pitch or took a swing of a bat. That makes him a douche.

When you make the voting about you and take this extreme of a stance, you're a douche.

The only bad thing about him giving up his vote is that Jeter now has a chance of going in with 100 percent. If Gurnick kept his vote, he'd be leaving Jeter off.

That says a lot about baseball writers over the last 30 years.

Easy for someone on an anonymous message board to call a guy they've never met a douche.

Of course, if you don't have this chickenshit "first-time inductee" level, the Maddux thing isn't a big deal at all.

I grew up watching East German swimmers and Ben Johnson. I've disengaged from it just fine. It's just another bullshit excuse for voters abusing a privilege that should be taken away from them.

Absolutely not. He wouldn't have publicized his vote if his bosses hadn't directed him to do so.

And, to several of you, 84% of the American public is not on Twitter, based on the last study I read. The idea that America is up in arms over Gurnick's vote is a bit much.

At best, it is a display of ignorance. As somebody else pointed out, steroids were n issue during Morris's career. Hell, he won 21 games at age 37. By the standards some of these jackasses use, that should be enough to suspect him of using something, right?

    Just a complete joke.

Yes, and Ken is a good guy. No need for name calling here if you don't agree with his position.

Doesn't mean it isn't true, though I wouldn't go that far. I'll just say his ballot is a joke and an abuse of the privilege as a voter.

It's not just a disagreement. His opinion here is idiotic and an abuse of his vote.
