You should know that the Garden/Cablevision is notoriously cheap when it comes to the lawyers that they hire and the way that they treat them. The firm used by MSG specializes in this type of work and Ron Green is a very big name, but it is by no means the best and the brightest. The mere fact that they let Dolan show up for his video deposition dressed like a homeless gangster is indicative of a lack of forward thinking. On the other hand, the Vladeck firm is the gold standard for plaintiff-side work in the employment law field in NYC and Anne Vladeck is a great lawyer.

Based on the facts, I thought that the Garden had a good shot of winning. She didn't complain until her job was admittedly in serious jeopardy and most of the allegations against Thomas weren't that awful. The retaliation claim was harder to defend, because Dolan admits that he canned her because he was irate that she had complained, had asked for so much to walk away and was speaking with her employees about her case. I'm surprised that plaintiff was able to introduce the Starbury stuff, which seemed to add very little probative value to the case. Judge Lynch is a very bright guy (and a former professor of mine), but I thought that he made the wrong call.

This is going to be a tough one to overturn for the Garden. I'm guessing that they pay her off in a couple of months, likely at 90-100% on the dollar, plus at least another $2 million for attorneys fees.

;D I laughed at the description of Dolan's wardrobe choice, Webster...

But beyond that, neither he nor Isiah seemed prepared for their depositions! I mean, for Isiah to admit it doesn't bother him as much when a black man calls a black woman a bitch... what were those lawyers thinking??

Isn't there a standard videotape that's shown to folks who are about to be deposed-- a videotape that in essence shows you how NOT to put your foot in your mouth?!?

I had to get a hearty chuckle at that line as well.

It looks like Zeke will be dining at McDonald's and not at Red Lobster anymore. [/quotefromJimRome'soldtvshowonFSN]

Stern's basically impotent. Nothing he says anymore will have much credibility after he praised the virtue of NBA officiating while at least one of his employees was throwing games.
He's playing out the string and will be gone by the end of the next post season, probably announcing his retirement around the beginning of the New Year.

I guess Cialis isn't going to do the trick, eh abbott?

Selena Roberts column today. Sounds like Jim Dolan is Fredo The Second.

Bend around his outbursts — or you’ll end up like the employee fired for serving flat cola. Maneuver past Jim’s insecurity — or you’ll be eviscerated like the security guard who didn’t recognize the Garden owner’s face.

There are so many hothead tales. But the tawdry, hostile dark side of the Garden remained largely a secret kept through confidentiality agreements and severance payoffs that functioned as hush money

If the Knicks have a bad start to the season, then they will need a scapegoat, someone to blame for this.
Isiah's neck is on a silver platter if this happens and I think he is gone before Christmas. However, if the Knicks do well, I think Isiah will be kept until the end of the season and then get the boot.

I really wonder how Dolan is feeling right about now. I would not want to be in his shoes considering not only would he potentially have to pay out the settlement from this case (if the appeal doesn't go his way), but he also is suing the NHL in an anti trust suit and he could potentially lose that too. Maybe Dolan is hoping to win the NHL suit so he can pay the sex suit damages with whatever money he gets.

In that vein, maybe Zeke can become Mayor of Baghdad? Everyone can unite to put a cap in his retarded ass.

    What's next for Isiah?

Flashbacks to moronic statements he's made in the past:

And more "I'm very innocent" proclamations.

Roberts drilled him and Dorkan in the NYT today. Well-done by her.

That's as harsh as I've seen on Dolan. Quite the column.

If I were her I'd be looking over my shoulder for anyone resembling a homeless gangster.
