it was not resolved on the show that I watch.

if Disney wants to use that to prop up the other shows good luck to them. I think its going to turn off a lot more Mando fans than create new ones for the universe (so do most tv critics). Mando is that much bigger than the rest of their properties. There are a lot of frustrated fans out there

I think most people who were invested in the characters would have heard about their appearances on Book of Boba Fett. To be fair, I'm just guessing because I was already watching that show. I do think it was an odd choice to focus two entire episodes and parts of others on that show on Din Djarin and Grogu. I do see how fans might find that frustrating because Book of Boba Fett wasn't particularly good. I just don't think it was going to be so bad that it turned people off The Mandalorian.

My bigger problem is that they were so impatient about it. I have heard that Grogu was supposed to have spent two years with Luke Skywalker in the timeline of the show, but as an audience, we don't feel that. For us, they were only apart for a few episodes, and that seems like weak storytelling after making such a big deal out of them being separated. I think they needed to trust us as an audience to stay interested in the show with them apart a little longer. For example, I think the pilot could have worked just fine with Djarin starting out on his quest on his own, then maybe cutting in a scene or two to check on Grogu. Perhaps create some threat to the school, or have them go looking for other students. Playing more of a long, patient game could have paid off with a better story.

That was a choice you made.

What are we betting? Because I want to know what I’m going to take from you when I win and you’re wrong.

To be fair, the next time they try it, they need to do a better job with the other series. I'm assuming there will be some connection between The Mandalorian and the upcoming Ahsoka series. Hopefully, that one will be a lot better than Boba Fett.

Everything in the Star Wars universe short of the original trilogy and Rogue One is playing for second after Andor. Including Hey Mando!

That's one way to look at it. I see it as a Batman Begins/Iron Man comparison. You can definitely make an argument that the former is higher-quality filmmaking, but the latter is a lot more fun to watch and re-watch. Of course, there are some similarities between Iron Man and The Mandalorian. Both involve armored warriors who start off preferring to fight alone but eventually find the need for connection with others. Also, both have Jon Favreau as a major creative influence.

I’m not betting anything. I didnt claim Mando would flop or fail and indeed itll be wildly successful because they’re sticking with the formula that works.

In doing so they seem to be giving up great storytelling potential. It feels pulpy when it could’ve been so much more

but oh well, everything is awesome

That city in this week’s episode …

… was the same city that was the capital of Mandalore in Clone Wars. It was under a dome but it wasn’t underground like it is now.

And did you notice the mythosaur?

I noticed it, but that is mostly because I was looking for it. They had been hinting at it, so as soon as he went under, I expected to see it.

This isn't new, but it was really glaring in the new episode. Grogu's pod is just ridiculous. That thing can just go anywhere with no obvious means of propulsion.
