I would take that, but you never know when a freak injury might occur that could derail Jeter getting to .310. If he finishes the season healthy I'm certain he will do it.

Which was as ridiculous at Derek Jeter being in the same league as Ted Williams.

The problem with betting is Manky is the only one with skin on the bet. Maybe everyone making fun of him should have to risk something, too.

If Jeter hits .310 Kermit is allowed to come back!

And finally we see Manky's faith in his hero show some cracks!

No, but injuries can happen to even the best. Let's do it this way: The Yankees have 35 games left.

If Jeter finishes above .310, I win the bet.

If Jeter doesn't hit .310 I lose, and will refrain from mentioning him for one year, starting from today (8/24/11).

Now, if he doesn't hit .310 but also plays in less than 27 games, we call it a draw.

    How's that?

If Jeter finishes the season at .310, I'll change my avatar to something of him looking heroic.

If he finishes at less than .310 (with the injury caveat), I want you to change your sig to "Derek Jeter hits worse in the postseason." (which, he does, by a few scant points of BA, OBP and SLG).

It's a Christmas miracle -- Jeter is 3-for-5 sso far today, and is now at .300 for the season.

Must not have stopped at H&H bagels for pregame nourishment or he would have gotten that fourth hit.

.320? I guess that means you expect that incompetent fool Kevin Long to mess with his swing again!

Again, why does Jetes need a hitting coach? Shouldn't he be dispensing the advice?
