A timeline of the Jeter-Minka relationship.

Can't wait to see who Jeter's with next.

Defensively? No, he really isn't a "damn good one" He never was.

But you trying to justify Captain Intangibles being selfish? No surprise there. .

How can the Yankees ever lose one game let alone three straight with Jetes in the lineup?

I don't know him, but Terence Moore is right on:

    http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20110902&content_id=24101766&vkey=perspectives&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb

I'll quote part of it here, but you should read the whole article:

<b>One of these centuries, when Jeter retires, historians will sift through his career, shake their heads and wonder why folks during his generation didn't realize that he was operating on a level beyond nearly everyone else around him.

Not only that, those same historians will marvel how Jeter did his splendid thing on a consistent basis, with many folks noticing, but not with as many as you would expect -- you know, given everything involved with this baseball player for the ages.

Yeah, that poor Jeter never gets any attention at all. ::)

The fact that Jeter is derided on a board populated by professional sportswriters makes Moore's point perfectly.

It's happened many times. You apparently don't know much about the game of baseball, which has 162 games in a season. A three game losing streak in a 162 game schedule is about the same as an NFL team getting outscored in a single quarter of a game.

The greatest team of all time, the 98 Yankees, started out 0-3. It happens.

I know that baseball doesn't have assistant coaches!

Nobody is slamming Jeter here. Fanboys like you? Yes. Not him.

Realistically pointing out his shortcomings? Yeah, guilty. Darn us sportswriters for trying to be accurate.
