Fixed that for you. You're welcome.

But in all seriousness, you claim you were misinterpreted? You said Granderson was not a legitimate MVP candidate due to his performance against winning teams. Of course, you have been proven blatantly wrong, but that isn't the issue.

By your reasoning, Jeter's poor performance against the Red Sox has to be a knock against him. Please, do tell how that isn't the case. I can't wait to read the warping of logic you come up with for this one.

He's played well against all other contending teams. Boston he typically plays well against but just not this year. We haven't mentioned his defense, tho...even when he isn't swinging the bat well he contributes.

    Granderson against sub-.500 teams: 265/365/538
    Granderson against winning teams: 277/384/617

So, you weren't misinterpreted. You just want to bend how the argument applies. Again, we're talking about this season, so Jeter's past performance against the Red Sox is irrelevant.

Actually, we have mentioned his defense. His range, which was never good, is now well below average. Jeter's defense is a negative. But thank you for reminding us all to count that against him.

In addition to stinking against the Red Sox, Jeter has been weak against the Tigers, too. He's batting .261 and slugging that exact same number. Again, to use one of your favored turns of phrase -- glorified singles hitter.

Sure, he has been good against the Rangers. But Granderson has been better. The same is true of the games against the Angels.

Jeter's solid finish might....might...put him among the top 5 Yankees this season, but he is clearly behind Cano, Granderson, Teixeira and Sabathia. I'd put him behind Mo Rivera, too, but you could argue that a closer's value is too limited to put him againd of a decent shortstop.

Notice how you don't even try to back that up. Because you can't. Because you are wrong, as usual.

Cano is the Yankees' best player. Granderson is No. 2. There is no question about that, at least among sane baseball observers.

Teixeira is clearly better than Jeter, at least among anybody with enough understanding of baseball to realize that judging hitters by batting average alone is foolish. He is on base nearly as much and produces far more power while providing superior defense at first base. He also bails your flawed shortstop out constantly.

I've seen the Yankees play a lot this year...probably 80% of their games. I see Jeter making more of an impact than Tex. That's not to tear down Tex, he's a good 1B (not Pujols or Fielder or Cabrera level but the next level down, with Ryan Howard or Konerko).

It's rare to find a shortstop that can hit like Jeter. Don't even try to throw names at me like Peralta or Reyes. They're having good seasons but can they do it year after year like the Captain?
