Doesn't matter. Peralta is the superior player this year.

Take a poll of managers and players, I guarantee you the vast majority would prefer the Captain on their team over Peralta

Having Jeter on your team is your ticket to postseason glory

Pedroia in 2008 is another guy who shouldn't have won MVP. Jeter has had several years in his career that were better than that and he didn't win.

I'm not saying Jeter should've won in 2008, it wasn't one of his best seasons.

Peralta is the better shortstop right now. Only your hero worship of Jeter keeps you from seeing that.

I took a poll. Called all the managers at home this morning. They voted unanimously for Peralta and a couple even asked "Why does this Manky character have such a man crush on Jetes? He's only human." Interesting, eh? They also said that Willie Mays has had better offensive years than Perala but Willie's too damn old to be productive these days AND WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT THE PAST. Babe Ruth had some a couple of decent years too but he's dead. Oh yeah, Joe Girardi said your obsession with his shortstop is a bit scary and he'd appreciate it if you'd stop.

Another 2 hits for Jetes today. He's batting .297, only 4 pts behind Cano for best hitter on the team. A few more multi-hit games and Jeter will be in the top 10 in the league.

Heard an old song today that made me wonder: What if Derek Jeter was one of us?
