A Yankee fan who can admit that the team is built on its massive financial advantage. So refreshing.

Well, Craig Biggio moved from second to accommodate Jeff Kent in 2003..

And Schmidt did try out second base in 1979 in spring training...cant remember exactly if it was because of Rose or they didn't have a good second basemen. They had traded for Trillo in the offseason, but for some reason they didn't think he could play...injury?

And to further hammer this in, Rose was a third basemen with the Reds by default. Thirdbase was a weak spot in 1975 and Anderson had George Foster on the bench. He moved Rose to third to fill that hole as well as get Foster in the line-up.

You're sure about a lot of things that you have no clue about. Like John Lennon's personality.

Oh so know you're telling us you knew John Lennon personally? And I'm the one being ridiculous?

I was talking about his personalITY, Einstein. I've read probably 30-40 books about the Beatles and Lennon. So yeah, I've got a pretty good take on what he was like. He was a miserable prick most of his life. It wasn't until the last five years after his son Sean was born that he became a decent person. He stepped away from music and the whole celebrity thing and become a stay-at-home dad. So yeah, I do know enough about him to speak with some authority. You, on the other hand, are telling us you know Pete Rose well enough to say he'd have taken steroids without a doubt? Yeah, sure you do. Read any of the Rose books? His own book or the Dowd report book? I have.

Umm, Chipper, unlike Jetes, is selfless and moved to left field to accommodate Vinny Castilla. Something Jeter was too scared to do.

That reminds me. Rodriguez also not only had the guts to make the move to third to accommodate Captain Intangibles and his selfishness, he had the ability to do it so well that he became an outstanding defensive player there.

Must just kill Manky to know that when people look back on their careers, they will see that Rodriguez was a MUCH better player than Jeter.

To be fair to Manky, Jeter is going in the Hall of Fame. ARod won't be.

Wouldn't the Braves have been better off had Chipper selfishly not moved to make room for Vinny Castilla?

Looking back on it, they would have. Left field really deteriorated Chipper's health. But at the time, they needed some offense and Castilla couldn't play the outfield. He made the move trying to help the team.

Something else Chipper has done that Captain Intangibles has never done:

When the Braves were in the process of signing Hudson to an extension, guess who volunteered to restructure his contract to make sure that happened? Chipper Jones. Would Jeter EVER do something of the sort?

Doesn't change the fact that Jones put the team first, something Jeter has shown he is not willing to do.
