Is it a fireable offense that Girardi used the greatest postseason pitcher of all time only 1 and 1/3 innings in the playoffs this year?

What did you expect, for him to start every freaking game?

When the hell were they supposed to use him? When they were up 10-1?

They wouldn't have needed him if the future hit king hadn't gagged miserably in their losses. This thread is about Jetes!

Torre knew when to deploy Rivera. Girardi was still managing as if were the regular season.

I hang this loss on Girardi, Long, ARod, and Tex in that order. Jetes will soon become the lone position player left from the dynasty years. Front office should consult with him on future personnel decisions.

Of course you will. And he'll be the lone player left since GM Jetes will be hanging on until age 60 trying to break Rose's record. "Now batting .... No. 2 ... Double Play Derek!"

If I were Brian Cashman, I would be pushing ARod to start juicing again. This is the only way he will come close to earning the $30M/year he's owed for the next 6 seasons.

Maybe he can supply Jetes and he won't strike out as much as he did vs. the Tigers.

Does anyone know if ARod has a no-trade clause?

Me and my friend are discussing scenarios in which the Yankees might trade him (obviously they'd probably have to pay part of his salary).

The ideal is he starts the season healthy and plays well and then they dump him on another team.

Full no-trade clause as a 10/5 guy (10 years in the majors and 5 with his current team). Yanks are stuck with him and the 6 years left on that contract.

    I thought so.

They need to move Tex. I figure Pujols will be leaving St. Louis after the season, the Cardinals will need a new first baseman. They might jump at the opportunity to get Tex to fill the void at first base.

But who in return? Chris Carpenter. Then flip him to Detroit (they need a strong #2 pitcher to complement Verlander). Get Miguel Cabrera in return.
