Jetes is more selective than that. He's about quality not quantity.

Jeter grew up a Yankees fan. There would be no logical reason for him to want to be traded to Detroit. And Brandon Inge??? Didn't the Tigers send him down to AAA this year?

Maybe Inge could play SS for the Yankees. After all, the Yankees SS wasn't even one of the three finalists for the Gold Glove. What the heck happened, Manks? Almighty Jetes wasn't even a finalist? Oh, that's right, he's not even the best shortstop in his own team!

Do you really still believe ARod could play shortstop?

Yes. And he'd whip Jeter's ass.

If that's true, how come the Yankees don't put ARod at short when Jeter's off or on the DL?

Re-titled the thread since some of you don't like me to comment on other baseball threads.

Because moving a regular back and forth is a bad thing. Better to keep him at his regular position and fill in for Jeter. Rodriguez would be nowhere near the shortstop he was when he came to the Yankees, but he'd still be better than Captain Intangibles.

There have been many players that have played more than one position in a season. If ARod's all he's cracked up to be then why can't he pull off a few games per season of shortstop?
