I wanna like Mariota but every time I watch him I am not overwhelmed. At Oregon I thought that
Jeremiah Masoli was a better QB for Kelly.

I don't see it happening. Philly is picking 20th.

Even if Philly offered this year's the first and second round picks the next two years, if you're Tampa do you do that knowing that one first-rounder is No. 20 overall, and next year's will likely be in that range as well?

The Eagles do fine with the quarterbacks they've had the last two years. They need to use every pick to shore up defense. That's way too big a price to pay for one quarterback who is going to be marginally more successful, maybe, than the guy you have.

You're assuming they'll have to move up to No. 1 to get Mariota.

True. But if Kelly has to have Mariota, the only way to be assured of getting him is to move up to No. 1.

Deals this big are hashed out before the draft even if they don't happen until draft day. Considering how many teams in the top 10 need a QB, I doubt Kelly will be able to wait long.

If I'm Kelly, I offer Tampa this year's No. 1 and No. 2, Foles and a No. 2 in 2016.

    Is Mariota really that good?

Kind of like what The Redskins did to get RGIII. How did that work out?

Except, it's a late No. 1, a late No. 2, a QB you don't need anymore, and what will presumably be a late No. 2 in 2016.

I don't think so. I'm basing that on what it takes to get the No. 1 pick. Typically, it takes a No. 1, a future No. 1 and a No. 3. The Eli Manning and Michael Vick trades were similar to that, but the picks they were getting in return were top 5.
