What was the most recent time you were at Legion Field? What's the best way to describe what it is like? I may be there in May, June or July for a USFL game or games and the World Games. I don't wanted to be shocked.

I think 2013 is the last time I was there. The game kicked off around 3 p.m. I think. I was out of the press box around 10 p.m. I had parked on someone's lawn in the neighborhood, and I felt less safe walking back to my car alone that night than I ever have in New York City.

The stadium itself is old and literally crumbling. On one side, the upper deck was demolished so it wouldn't collapse on to the rest of the stands. If they haven't gotten a new scoreboard, you might get to cast your gaze on what probably is the first digital scoreboard ever built. UAB has a new stadium, and I'd imagine Legion Field is not long for this world.

I've spent a lot of time at Legion Field. Was there most recently in 2020. Place needs to be retired, for sure. But, to be honest, it looks much worse from the outside than it does on the inside. Press box is fine - no frills but functional as long as Wifi is working. Walking in the surrounding neighborhood is not smart but that was never a good idea.

Ah, good ol' Legion Field. Come for a game, leave hoping you don't get robbed.

Besmirching the hot dog buns and such will have Big Al Topazi calling a guy who knows a guy to come have a chat with you.
