Marshall is playing for an unbeaten season. UAB is playing for its life.

Ah, I was wondering when that scapegoat would be trotted out.

Kevin Scarbinsky tells it like it is.

Doesn't have anything to do with Title IX. Has to do with prioritizing the budget.

Such as, why would a school, especially down South, need an $8-9 million indoor practice facility? They may want one for when it rains, but need one? No.

That's not Title IX's fault. It's about priorities.

Not to pick nits, but if half the folks upset about this decision actually went to UAB games, it wouldn't have been made.

    Got to love their priorities:

Oh, and I guess studying hard for academic scholarships and getting student loans is out the window.

Living with Mom or Grandma? What about Dad?

As if no other twenty year old football player thinks of his athletic career first.

I can't decide if you're trolling me or just being a dick.

In any event, I'm tired and raw and I don't think I want to play your game any longer.

They didn't waste any time over at Legion Field.

And the fact that this is on the front of our home field tells a story all by itself.

Not doing either. Your link just emphasizes my point that priorities, and not just for UAB, but for college sports in general, need to be changed. Will it? Likely not, because the siren call of money is just too strong.

I get that those kids are upset and they have a right to be. They love their sport and their team. It's a shame that the adults can't all get along because they care more about money and pissing rights than the fun of the sport.

BTW, now that I think of it, with the second quote that I put up, it really doesn't make much sense, considering that UAB is honoring their scholarships anyways. Why would they need to live with Mom, or Grandma, or Dad for that matter.

If what we're hearing rumblings about actually comes to pass, Watts is going to kill undergrad and we'll be back to being a medical center and an extension school. I know of a couple of foreign languages that are not going to be offered any longer, we're hearing about cuts in the History Department, and it looks like they're going to attempt to take our materials engineering and biomedical engineering departments to Tuscaloosa. But who needs history anyhow, right?

I guess you really don't need activities to attract undergrads if you're going to gut your undergrad school.

I'm thinking that SACS is gonna be getting a call pretty soon. There's too much fishy stuff going on.
