Except that's the same thing said after a mass shooting perpetrated by a white man or woman, or an obscene night (or week or month) of black-on-black gun violence in Chicago.

There's a common thread that runs through all of them. We're not the ones ignoring an issue, nor or we the ones being manipulated by puppet masters.

Muslims motivated by their religion to kill people -- which happens daily throughout the world -- are bad. I feel it is a problem and that ignoring it just exacerbates that problem. But please enlighten me to the nuance I'm missing.

People are killed in Chicago? Are you sure? I haven't heard much about that.

That's a completely fair take. I'm not trying to ignore the Muslim part of this particular issue. It's very real. But I also am legitimately curious to why any civilian needs access to assault rifles. I think the two ideas can co-exist in the same discussion.

Can somebody tell me why the weapon in this case should be legal ? Why would it be unreasonable for legislatures to ban it? I'm all ears.

It's the victims' faults. They weren't tough enough, smart enough, or vigilant enough.

Can somebody tell me why many people "concerned" with violence only seem to care about people killed by guns? ISIS regularly kills people by putting them in cages and burning them. Did I miss the sympathetic posts about those victims of violence?

Anyone who spends a single second obsessing over what any high-profile politician has to say about this is a moron. They all traffic in division and we'll be inundated with a bunch of click-bait and other nonsense about unity, coming together, blah, blah, blah.

Not in this country they don't. In this country they use AR-15s. Thus the natural flow of this conversation.
