Apparently you missed the part about how if they were Christians he shot them in the head.

And your free to pin all your hopes on who he was based on a MySpace page from more than 10 years ago. You'll look like a fool, but have at it.

Actually, won't be surprised if that is not the case.

Horseshit. It's not "futile" if we'd ever actually try doing ANYTHING about it. But we've not. Worldwide evidence plainly shows that gun law reform works. Countries that once had an analogous mass shooting type problem see it miraculously disappear after enacting reform (see Australia as Exhibit A); countries that enact gun control legislation consistently see their murder/mass shooting rates drop afterward; and countries and states with stricter gun laws consistently have lower murder/mass shooting rates than those with looser laws.

But the problem is, unlike in other countries, we've NEVER actually tried any meaningful reform on the national level, mainly because the gun lobby/NRA has successfully blocked every attempt that's been made. Don't fucking tell me that a problem is "futile" if we've never actually attempted to fix it.

Double horseshit. Only one side on this issue has been intractable and unwilling to compromise. There've been plenty of "middle ground" proposals thrown out over the years that would not have infringed upon the 2d Amendment, but the NRA crowd will not hear of any of it.

Just as an example, here's one I can get on board with: how about we allow the hunting rifles, allow the pistols that serve reasonable self-defense purposes, but only get rid of easy access to these military assault rifles? Seriously, what's wrong with that proposal? ARs serve no reasonable hunting or self-defense purpose, give no target practice enjoyment not equally provided by other guns. ARs are nothing but people-killing machines that were designed for ONLY ONE PURPOSE: killing many humans quickly in military combat. So let our soldiers use em ...fine. But why the fuck do we allow nearly any fatassed, low IQ, emotionally unstable civilian to buy an AR? What could he possibly need it for, just to give some bragging point to compensate for his tiny brain and even tinier penis?

Answer: Because the NRA/Gun Lobby loses its mind if anyone dare try to stop em, and water-carrying idiots like you always jump in line to take their back.

So what? Is this now like the gun version of the "but I have black friends" defense? Doesn't matter if you've never fired a friggin squirt gun, fact remains that you always parrot the exact same mindless right-wing drivel after every one of these needless massacres, and always without even bothering to consider the other side.

And WTF do you mean "what, exactly, is my side"? Are you really that disingenuous? Your side on this, like every political thread that comes up on this board, is whatever Fox News says your side should be. You really think we hadn't noticed?

YF is just laying the foundation to get everyone off the gun tangent and talk about the real problem here, marijuana.

I agree. Mass murderers and deer hunters are one and the same.

Hooray. Another great day for the NRA. And Fox News. They love these things.
The NRA's attitude on this is remarkable. If the medical establishment used the NRA's logic, no doctor would ever tell anybody how to change lifestyle in order to become healthier and reduce the risk of cancer, heart disease, etc. They'd have to keep their traps shut.
If parents acted with the NRA's tacit endorsement of mass killers, they'd never teach their kids anything in home such as basic manners or social skills. They'd just wait for the kid to get beaten up in school.
The gun nuts can beat their chests with false claims of an imminent roundup of weapons but sleep soundly in the knowledge that nothing will ever happen to their superfluous second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh weapons.
