No shit. I've never heard a golfer thank his sponsors like that.

    Doogie cant help himself

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — A strange week at the Masters saved the biggest surprises for the end Sunday — a green jacket for unheralded Zach Johnson, and beating Tiger Woods at that.

Johnson pulled away from Woods and the rest of the pack with three birdies in a crucial four-hole stretch along the back nine of Augusta National, closing with a 69 for a two-shot victory and only the second of his career.

    Oh, come on.

Tiger was right in the hunt. He had the outright lead after 2. He's a main reason people tuned into the round. Of course he's going to write about him. The guy finished second and was the only one on the course who could make two birdies with three to go to force a playoff.

Like him or hate him, Tiger is the greatest golfer of this generation. He was in position to make it five green jackets and be one step from a second Tiger Slam.

Putting Tiger in the lead is not a ridiculous step to take.

Aegon USA/Life Investors in Cedar Rapids has supported him since he started out on the minor tour in 1998 after graduating from Drake. RSM McGladrey has several offices across the state, so it was natural for them to support him. They stuck with him for a long time, when it would have been easy to drop him when he was struggling. I would do the same thing and prop someone if they stuck by my ass through the Nationwide tour and finally cutting some serious teeth on the major tour.

FWIW, Padraig Harrington, at one time, was sponsored by Irish Life, in which my former employer was owned by until 2000, when it sold to Protective Life in Birmingham, Alabama.

Did anyone else throw up in their mouth a little bit when Peter Oooooooooosterhaus went to the "There must be something wrong with Tiger's health" card?

Come on, the dude is allowed to lose fair and square, isn't he?

Thank you, thank you, thank you! There was a collective groan here when most of the Tiger haters in the office heard that.

  10. The answer to that is, no.
God, the CBS crew embarrassed itself today. Oyster House was only the most egregious.
And I was a Zach guy all the way until Jeebus entered the picture.

There's nothing wrong with thanking Jeebus and being from Iowa. [/Kurt Warner]
