Good column by Boswell, essentially agreeing with doubledown:

I think Rick Reilly wrote the same thing several years ago, too. The leaderboard so far this year has looked like a U.S. Open leaderboard -- the scores and the names.

Try someone who actually knows the course, IMO.

That's why Boswell is in Augusta, and I'm posting about it on here. Good piece. I read the other piece too.. eh. I agree to a point -- the Masters shouldn't be easy. But I agree more with Boswell. Give me back nine charges. I want the top six or seven on the leaderboard to fire at the flags -- because if they don't, they know they'll lose.

I respectfully disagree with double and Bos. The relative score of the field to par will not stop guys from shooting at the pins on the back nine tommorrow. Some of them will need birdies to win, and they'll their chances if they're not good chances. In fact, due to the compression of the field and more guys closer to the lead, we could see MORE gambles.
Take Woods. He's five off the lead, and he's never won a major he didn't lead after the third day. I think he may take a few risks this afternoon.

Brett Wetterich will be nowhere near the top of the leaderboard by the end of today.

A line already used by 5 million hacks after the first round.

What would you suggest? Brett Wetterich and Tim Clark are the 36-hole leaders in the Masters, followed by Vaughn Taylor, Zach Johnson and Jerry Kelly. But they're not superstars, so let's kick them out of the tournament -- right now -- and slide Vijay, Tiger, Phil and the other stars up a notch.

More tough scoring in the early going. Only one player (with 23 on the course) is under par, and that's 1-under.

Get a faster computer. There are 30 players now on the course, with four under-par for the day. Goosen and Cink are -2.

So in 29 minutes, seven more went out? About right. Three more got under part in that span? About right. The post reads like "I'm being an asshole just to be an asshole."

The last time I saw Bos leave the media center was to watch Jack finish in 1986.
