Maybe Bush not quite as "faith-based" as he would have us think?

Do you ever stop playing the "We're not as bad as them" game, hondo?

And as we all know, there's a War on Christmas.

And my point was that people who are not Christians in America really only have to worry about getting their ears talked off. People who are not Muslim in some areas of the world have to worry about things getting cut off, sliced of blown up.

The extremists in Kansas and the extremists in the Middle East operate very differently. Anyone who can't see that is pretty much blinded by their hate of anything religious, so much so that it seems to cloud common sense.

Extremists Christians in the 21st century: Excuse me, we would like it if you shared our religious beliefs. We'll preach, pray for your soul, try to get a school system to adopt a curriculum we favor (through legal, Constitutionally protected means), pitch a bitch about the Mapplethrope Exhibit and maybe try to get a book banned from a library (which won't happen and never does). That's about it.

Extremist Muslims in the 21st century (the small minority, of course): Excuse me, we would like it if you shared our religious beliefs. If you don't, you will be killed.

Well, as long as we're not killing, beheading, flying planes into buildings and blowing up buses and trains, I'd say it's a safe bet that we're not as bad as them.

HONDO, FOR THE LAST FUCKING TIME, WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT MUSLIM EXTREMISTS HERE..

You keep bleating on about how radical Christians aren't trying to foist their beliefs on everyone.

If you don't think that prayer in the school, a ridiculous attempt to introduce a nonsensical "theory" of science into the classroom isn't an attempt to force your beliefs on the rest of the population, then what is?

And books get banned all the time by the mouthbreathers, most of whom haven't read a book since kindergarten.

And Hondo, I don't live in those places so quit being a smarmy bastard about it.

Like I said, Hondo's constant anti-Muslim rhetoric is the religious version of "Clinton! Got! A! Blowjob! Tiresome as shit and totally irrelevant.

OK. You are not as bad as maniacs who fly planes into buildings. Congrats. That's like being proud of the D in math class because someone else got a D minus.

  10. I wasn't going to get into this argument but JR's sniping brought me in.

JR talks about others bringing up things to change the parameters of the argument and then pretend its the same one. But he's the one who is constantly doing this.

For example out of nowhere JR brings Ireland into the argument. However JR does not know that it was land and not religion that caused the troubles in Ireland. It was the Tudors (both Elizabeth a Protestant and Mary a Catholic) that introduced the plantation system to Ireland which caused an upheaval in the relationship between the Irish and the English. Only later did the Irish truly embrace Catholicism (mostly because it was anti-English to do so).

Of course when Hondo asks JR a direct question - JR refuses to answer it and instead pretends that he did answer it and make it sound like Hondo was a moron for asking it in the first place.

JR takes things on a tangent and then blames others because they came along for the ride.

Actually, JR was responding to Hondo's mutant topic he brought up.

Wow. Have you always had this anger management problem. Why don't you try Jesus?

And you keep bleating about how terrible fundamentalist Christianity is, but in reality, the worst thing they do nowadays is annoy people -- like you, for example.
The worst thing fundamentalists in other religons do is kill people.
Yet, you keep equating the two.

    Remember: God loves you.
