Maybe Bush not quite as "faith-based" as he would have us think?

  1. JR - you don't like Christians telling you how to run your life and we don't like Canadians telling us how to run our country.

Hondo - how about a comprise? You stop telling JR about Jesus and JR will stop posting on political threads that aren't about Canada?

    That's sounds fair. Doesn't it?

Oh wait, here's another that doesn't count, since the cops caught him before he was able to plant the bomb. In June, of this year.
To say that abortion clinics don't walk in fear now is insane. I actually know a nurse who does abortion work. She helps with the abortions of second-trimester, wanted pregnancies for some medical reason.
Her building doesn't have windows anymore, they bricked them up. Metal detector to walk through the door, armed guards. They get regular warnings from the cops and the various federal agencies about possible plans and plots. Got them recently even, so some people are concerned, but not Hondo, 'cause a Repub talking point is to say nothing bad has happened since the late '90s.

Police foil planned abortion clinic bombing
    Associated Press
RIVERDALE, Md. - A man who told police he made a pipe bomb to attack an abortion clinic was arrested Thursday, shortly before the device went off in a friend’s home while authorities tried to disable it, according to court documents.

There are fewer bare asses on American TV than there are on TV in any other developed nation.

We are a lot more repressive in these matters than you think.

Chris, my deranged friend: American politics=international politics.

When you start invading countries and throwing your weight around like the proverbial schoolyard bully, it's EVERYBODY's business.

hondo, i never meant to question your intellect or intelligence in my other post (which i don't think i did), but apoligize if it came across that way.

all i meant was that SOME christians in the deep south, that are probably the vocal majority while perhaps being a minority in numbers, say a lot but act different from that. They say they are tolerant, yet I have been told I am going to hell for being a jew. so there is that. There is still intolerance down here toward non-white christian people.

as for how the discussion has transpired, no one wants someone else's beliefs thrown at them. no one should have to. i have nothing against christians, muslims or whoever. just don't push your shit on me. if i had interest in it, i would ask.

  7. By the same token Canadian politics = Who cares?

Yet that hasn't stopped you from trying to force threads on Canadian politics down our throats.

You have started many more threads on Canadian politics than hondo has started on Christianity.

Maybe you can agree to promise not to start any threads on Canadian politics and Hondo can promise not to start any threads on Christianity. Would that be fair enough. I'm mean nobody cares about Canadian politics and you'd be doing us all a favor.

Chris, the fact that no one cares about our politics is a compliment.

And I don't "force" threads on anybody. Read them or not read them. That's the philosophy I have about NBA threads. Do yourself a favour. Don't want to talk about softwood lumber or regional disparities, stay away.

And I'm trying to think of a recent Canadian political thread that I started. Not that it's any of your fucking business.

  9. So you are saying that it is possible for others to simply ignore posts or threads on Canadian issues (or the NBA for that strange matter) but that you find it impossible to ignore threads or posts where someone speaks about their faith?

Is that deficiency because you are Canadian?

  10. Anybody who doesn't like Canadian politics has never stayed up late to watch the parliamentary returns come in from Yellowknife on the CBC, where the anchor desk is in some sort of castle.
Beats the Fox All Stars all to hell.
And how did we get here from noting that Fredo takes his functional Christianity straight out of Paul's second Epistle to Wingnuttia?
    Rove (according to Yuo)"
"Just get me a fucking faith-based something."
    Classic.

hondo, I'm under no obligation to let you and your false prophets poison my daughter with your narrow-minded hatred, either. You're the one always crying about the importance of the diversity of opinion.

Bare asses on TV? Please name me a show on network TV where you actually saw a REALLY bare ass at 10 p.m., besides NYPD Blue. And even if you can, name one, or more, if you're so freaking offended by it, why don't you BLOCK her access? Or turn the TV off? No, you'd rather blame society, or others, than take responsibility as a parent.
