Maybe Bush not quite as "faith-based" as he would have us think?

And even if it were, I'm pretty sure Hondo's TV has an off button.
    Fanatical Christians don't.

I'm all for diversity of opinion. But some of you are for it only when there is general agreement on your stances.
And way to load a statement: "false prophets, poisoning your daughter with narrow-minded hatred?"

Dude, I don't hate anyone unless they're trying to kill or hurt me or my family. And are you lumping everyone with religious convictions with having "narrow-minded hatred?"

You don't hate anyone other than those trying to kill or hurt you or your family? Wow, virtually every member of this board must have misread quite a few of your comments on previous threads because I sure don't see that. Your hatred, or at least your general disdain, appears to extend to people well beyond those who threaten violence to you and yours.

And it's also laughable because you and your fellow conservatives on this board and frequently trying to supress beliefs which differ from yours, so to call out liberals for doing the same is a bit odd.

  7. Gentlemen, ladies, can't we all just gather and pray together at a fucking faith-based something?

I am talking about the fundies, who attribute to the bible doctrines that are hateful, cruel and entirely antithetical to Christ's message of love and compassion. They're a pox on this country. And, yes, I hate them.

And somehow hating them isn't entirely antithetical to Christ's message of love and compassion?

This thread makes my anus hurt.

I WILL say this though: We can talk about Falwell and Robertson until the Second Coming, but you know who has more influence then both of them combined? Joel Osteen. And short of the most horrible shit-eating grin in televised history, he's not throwing anything out there worthy of hand-wringing at all. And his church is so big and popular it's taken over the Houston Rockets' former arena (they may have better swingmen too, for all I know). Falwell/Robertson/etc. would kill for Osteen's popularity, but we want to make this a battle of the most obnoxious voices in the debate, when in fact it's guys like Osteen and Rick Warren that Christian America is more likey to follow. They just make less suitable targets, is all.

Pope, The Riz is perfectly capable of creating spiritual rehabilitation without the help of the GOP. Let the healing begin.
