Liked this bit from Burneko on Deadspin:

Match him against one of those wavy inflatable tube men they set up on the curb outside car dealerships and he will give the inflatable tube man two or three early rounds, wait out the last drops of the wavy inflatable tube man’s stamina and every last wisp of risk, and then land enough straight right hands to claim the fight at some point after the ninth round and probably after the final bell. “The wavy inflatable tube man, he’s a true champion,” Floyd will say. “He showed heart.” The wavy inflatable tube man’s fans will clamor for a rematch. The last 14 years of Floyd’s career have been a work.

Also, the MMA media claiming a moral victory for Conor are embarrassing themselves. There is no moral victory in fights, only wins and losses. Conor claimed he would knock out Mayweather inside of four round. He did much, much worse than that. No moral victory to be claimed.

There was an MMA fan or two on teh Twitterez last night wondering why it was stopped, because it wasn't over yet. Good grief, how much more of a beating did they want their man to take?

Let the rematch be in the Octagon and I might watch

Seriously? You're joking right? If it's in the Octagon, Mayweather will get injured.

Eh, he can afford American health care.

No one else can, but . . .

That fight was pretty much exactly what everyone expected. McGregor comes out so hard that he gets gassed in three or four MMA rounds. A long fight was seriously in Mayweather's favor, and why would he rush? Every round that passes he piles up more points. He's not going to risk pushing it until he's sure his man is done, then he closes the books.

I've been saying it for years - Mayweather's biggest skill for the last ten or fifteen years has been choosing who to fight and when to fight them. If they're seriously good, he'll duck them till they're on the down slide then he'll make the fight.
