Except the NFC championship, where 11 of them weren't allowed to touch the field because of a coin toss.

    Seriously?

2003 is the year that really sticks out to me. He had the best team in the NFC by a mile. They were very lucky to get past a mediocre Packers team at home in overtime and they lost at home the following week to a mediocre Carolina team.

I don't see how McNabb doesn't shoulder the bulk of the blame for not at least going to the Super Bowl that season.

The guy is 34. If he ever makes it to another Super Bowl, Shanahan will look like a genius. Peter King made the comparison to where Elway was in his career when Shanny took over, which is ridiculous.

McNabb is not John Elway and he's not even close.

Typical dumbass sportswriter comparison. Elway had the NFL's top running back running behind a great offensive line and a good receiving corps. Those Broncos teams late in his career were dominant, the best in the NFL. McNabb doesn't have shit to work with on a really bad team.

Here's an AP article from immediately after the game.

Agreed. Elway had arguably the best running back in the game, the best Tight end in the game, a Hall of Famer at left tackle and quite possibly another Hall of Famer on the line and two damn good receivers in McCaffrey and Rod Smith.

McNabb also has never been the competitor Elway was.

I covered that game. The receivers did suck, but so did McNabb.

10-of-22 for 100 yards and three picks. Sorry, but no excuses at all for that kind of performance with a SB on the line. None. McNabb rightfully gets credit for carrying the Eagles to a lot of success, but he shouldn't be immune to criticism when he fucks up, especially on the big stage.

For the most part, I always thought McNabb was a very good quarterback on a very good team. I would argue the Eagles were better with Jeff Garcia a few years back when McNabb got hurt.

The only year I thought he was great was when he was throwing to Owens.
