McNabb a (benched) Redskin

I would assume some team would pick McNabb up and get the Redskins out from under the $3.5 mill for a non-starter. He's hardly perfect, but he's sure better than many of the guys who WILL be starting this Sunday, notably including his replacement. But Redskin fans will be happy. Fans are always happy when the starting QB gets yanked. It keeps from thinking about all the other ways their team is inadequate.

Michael, $3.5 is just the option the Skins paid this season. The contract next year is $12.5.

    I don't think i made it clear.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Andy Reid and Eagles knew what they were doing. Could it have worked out any better for them? A bit of a hit at the beginning, but Vick has been superb (and even Kolb has played decent) while McNabb is obviously on the downside + the trade f'd up a division rival. Oh, and they got a draft pick which turned into their starting safety (Nate Allen). And the Eagles are still due one more draft pick, likely now a fourth as the benching will probably prevent McNabb from playing in 70% of the plays (the pick turns into a third if that happens or Washington wins 9 games).

Again, Andy Reid and the Eagles made the right call on a player on the downside of their career. Hugh Douglas, Brian Mitchell, Brian Dawkins (to some extent, he's been OK in Denver, but nothing spectacular) and now McNabb.

Don't know how happy 'Skins fans are to have Rex Grossman starting.

Not happy about having a guy like Grossman as the backup -- now starter. However, this season is cooked and McNubb has sucked all year. So a QB change is fine with me.

The decision? No problem with it.
The way Shanny has handled the whole thing? Yeah, he's a douche.

I just can't believe a big-name player acquired by Dan Snyder didn't end up working out.

There are plenty of teams where McNabb would be an upgrade. I'm surprised the Cardinals haven't dropped the Redskins a line.

Trade deadline was about 4 years ago

For one thing, the trade deadline is long gone. But why would anyone drop the Redskins a line even after the season? Everyone knows McNabb is going to get cut and then he can just work out whatever deal he can find.

Look at his career record. Rex Grossman is a winner. [/RickStain]

Merely my opinion, but I think Cam Newton will turn out to be twice the NFL quarterback VY is, was or will be.
