He is, but even if he is a little bit inferior, the trade is a good one.

    They got two picks.

This trade also may be a lose-lose situation. McNabb is not going to fill all the holes the 'Skins have; he's gonna have a hard time leading them to the playoffs in the next couple of years. And Kolb, while he obviously has gained the confidence of the Philly staff, has what, two career starts under his belt? Every trade involves risk. I think short-term Washington improves slightly (but not nearly enough), while Philly takes a step back. But long-term, I like the deal better for the Eagles.

Two horrible picks. A second-round selection in 2010 and a third- or fourth-round pick in 2011.

Unless the Eagles package the second rounder with the first and move up in the draft to get a stud, it's pointless.

If you think those picks aren't valuable, there's not much point in discussing football transactions with you.

Picks are valuable...when used correctly. The Eagles haven't had too many great drafts in recent memory.

Fanboi nonsense. The Eagles have been one of the better-run organizations in the last decade-plus.

I was an Eagles fan since they drafted McNabb. I am no longer one. I have the Patriots in the AFC, but now I need a new NFC team to root for. I hate the Skins, so I can't just go for them even if one of my favorite players to watch is now their QB. But as much as I dislike the Skins, I hope they rip Philly to schreds when the face each other.

DeSean Jackson was a second round pick in 2008.

Kolb was a second round pick in 2007.

Why would you not be an Eagles fan anymore? Were you optimistic that they would win the Super Bowl with McNabb next year? Or that they would extend his contract and he would eventually lead them to a Super Bowl? Wouldn't it make more sense to not be an Eagles fan b/c they signed a convicted felon (not saying that signing Vick bothered me or what have you, but it obviously did to some who said they would no longer root for the Eagles b/c of the signing) than when they traded a quarterback that, while he had 11 mostly very productive seasons, couldn't win a championship? And I've always said McNabb got too much blame for the shortcomings, but I also thought it was time to move on. Just my two cents.

Brent Celek was a fifth-round pick in 2007.

Trent Cole was a fifth-round pick in 2005.

Yes the Eagles have missed (Freddie Mitchell, Matt McCoy, Reggie Brown, ect.), but they hit on some picks, too.
