    Bull. And wrong.

Bull because the Eagles haven't done any worse than some of the perennial doormats. Wrong because the draft is more than just the first round ... or the first pick, five picks or 10.

Too risky for the Eagles, but if I'm Donovan McNabb it's a slap to the face. Think he won't be loaded for bear twice a season for the next few?

Brian Westbrook was a third-round pick out of Villanova.

Teams that don't want to start an immediate firestorm do trades on Easter, which also happens to be MLB opening day and the day before the NCAA championship and the big Tiger presser.

"Taking out the trash," as it were.

Only if he signs an extension with the Redskins.

This is also a very deep draft (supposedly) and the having round 2 the day after round 1 helps teams prepare a little more.

This is not a "horrible" pick for the Eagles. It's one of the deepest drafts ever, and they have a history of drafting well from this position: Kolb and DeSean Jackson, for starters.

For all of you saying that Jason Campbell is better than he looked in Washington, I beg to differ. I've watched almost every single one of Campbell's starts in Washington, and I think he's somewhere between the 22nd and 26th best quarterback in the league. I don't think he's capable of leading even a good team to the playoffs because he is just too damn indecisive in the pocket. It's painful to watch Campbell when defenses confuse him.

This trade should help both teams.

I'm guessing the Redskins will take Russell Okung with the fourth pick, or, potentially, trade down, recoup some draft picks and address a few of their problem areas.

Plus, you know the Redskins aren't done yet. Bruce Allen will go try and find some more reclamation projects. I'm not saying it's the way to go, but that seems to be what they are doing.

Rumple, first find me a team that hits on every pick year after year. Doesn't happen. Second, you can't judge last year's picks so quickly. And even if you did, you obviously know very little about the Eagles by crossing out Fokou. (Not to mention 2008 pick Joe Mays, although the jury is still out on him.)

Slap in the face maybe, Sam, but the Eagles can't mortgage their future to keep McNabb around when they think getting rid of him is the best move. One of the reasons the Bears sucked for most of the '90s is Ditka and management chose sentimentality over good business sense. It set the franchoise back for a long time. And McNabb can be as mad as he wants, but he doesn't have enough around him to do much about it.

Edit: Again, Rumple, the Eagles have been one the top franchises in the league for more than a decade. Take your fanboi blinders off. No guarantees, but given the organization's track record, I'll give the team the benefit of the doubt that this is the right move. You root for a team that went to five title games in 10 years and you want to whine about personnel moves. Please.

The Ravens come damn close to hitting on almost every pick.

podunk makes a good point about the Ravens. New England seems to do pretty well.

I know Fokou earned the starting job last year, but the jury is still out on him. Talk to me at the end of this season to see if he was worth trading Gocong.
